National Safety Month Awareness

June is National Safety Month, a time to shed some light on the leading causes of preventable injuries and how you can avoid them. At Amen Hospice we take National Safety Month very seriously as many of our patients are susceptible to slips, trips, and falls.

The CDC has highlighted some preventable measures to avoid injuries in the workplace and at home. In the first week of June, they highlight the importance of Musculoskeletal Disorders that can arise in the workplace through heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects, In week 2 they go on to discuss Workplace Impairment that can arise from substance abuse, and provide resources on mitigating these risks. In weeks 3 and 4 they cover injury prevention and slips, trips, and falls. We encourage you to take a look at the facts they present at https://blogs.cdc.gov/niosh-science-blog/2022/06/02/safety-month-2022/.

Hope you stay well this month, and take time to read up on some of the preventable measures listed on the CDC's homepage to keep you and your loved ones safe.
